Labour General Election Candidate for Chesham and Amersham is Anthony Gajadharsingh, Chief of Staff for a multi-national technology company.

He lives with his civil partner Dominic Lawson.  They have been together for 15 years.  Anthony’s mother and brother live near Amersham. He has been a keen walker and rambler in the Chiltern Hills for the past 30 years.

Forty-three years old, he was educated at a comprehensive school in Hammersmith and later qualified as a Chartered Secretary.

With a strong business background his career includes: Assistant Company Secretary for London Electricity plc; Managing Director of a start up electricity metering business, which grew to employ over 1,500 people; and Head of Strategy for a Chicago-based manufacturing company.

Commenting on his selection as the Labour candidate Anthony Gajadharsingh said: 

“It’s great to have been selected for an area where my family live and which I know very well.

“My business background gives me a good understanding of the issues and solutions we need to deal with the budget deficit and economic recession.

“Whilst being a supporter of core Labour principles, I have never been part of the party’s establishment, I am independent-minded and a free thinker and I believe this is the kind of politics we need.

“I look forward to working with the constituents of Chesham and Amersham, listening to their concerns and pursuing policies to uplift the local community.

“I invite local constituents to contact me regarding any problems or issues that they would like me to assist with.”

Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of every month except August in the Small Barn Amersham Commmunity Centre, next to the Amersham Swimming Pool, starting at 8pm.
