This is our new site and it is expanding all the time. We will be adding new content on a continuous basis in the coming weeks and months- do please check back frequently for updates. You can contact Wycombe Labour here if you have any questions about our activities and we welcome contributions to the site from our members and anyone else.
What is the Labour Party? An extensive history of the Party and its achivements over more than a century can be found on the national Party website via links at the foot of this page.
In High Wycombe and the surrounding area, as a local organisation of members and supporters of the national Party, we meet on a regular basis to discuss politics and formulate our own policies with a local emphasis to try to get public authorities and institutions to provide good services on a fair and equitable basis and provide value for money for tax payers. To that end we sponsor candidates in elections to Parish, Town, District and County Councils and our Councillors, Officers and members seek a public platform to promote our views.
We also have social gatherings and try to get interesting people to come and talk to us. MEPs, MPs and members of the House of Lords have come to some of our events - 30 minutes or so from London is a convenient place to visit for the evening when politicians have the free time. We have speakers from Charities, Pressure Groups and many other organisations as well as our own members passing on their experiences from within the myriad of organistions they work or volunteer for. Our own councillors give us the inside news on what really happens inside the Councils where they sit.
All our meetings are open to all our members and we do our best to keep the discussions topical, interesting and varied. We meet at least monthly on a regular basis with special events on a frequent basis. Our constituency-wide meeting is always on the third Thursday of the month at Hilltop Community Centre, Cressex Road, so join up and join in.
